Choosing the right machine
Is the Electrolux Professional TD6-14 Commercial Dryer the right model for me?
The TD6-14 is a full-commercial dryer for sites requiring a larger 14.2 kg capacity and regular professional use.
The correct heating variant, electrical supply, exhaust route and replacement-air provision must be confirmed before ordering.
What should I check before purchasing this machine?
The TD6-14 should be matched to the capacity of the site’s washers, expected daily laundry volume and available services.
Before purchasing this machine, it is worth checking:
- Load size and daily volume: Confirm that 14.2 kg provides the right capacity and throughput.
- Heating source: Choose between electric, gas and steam according to available services.
- Electrical capacity: Confirm the required voltage, phase, connected load and protective rating.
- Exhaust route: Allow for a correctly designed 200 mm external exhaust duct.
- Replacement air: Ensure sufficient make-up air can enter the laundry room.
- Space and access: Check machine dimensions, delivery access and working clearances.
- Dryness control: Select a Moisture Balance PNC where controlled residual moisture is required.

Services, drainage and cycle times
All vented TD6-14 versions require an external exhaust system and adequate replacement air. Gas and steam versions also require correctly designed heating services and professional installation.
Published drying times are manufacturer reference figures. Actual performance varies with load weight, textile type, starting moisture, selected programme, duct resistance and site services.
- Electric models: Available with 6, 9 or 13.5 kW electric heating.
- Gas models: Require compatible gas supply, ventilation, extract design and appropriate interlocking.
- Steam models: Require suitable steam and condensate connections within the specified pressure range.
- Exhaust: Provide a 200 mm duct with resistance kept within the permitted limit.
- Make-up air: Replacement air must match the selected model’s extracted airflow.
- Reference cycle: Approximately 25.6 minutes with 13.5 kW electric heating under stated test conditions.
Replacing an older model?
The TD6-14 may suit replacement of an older vented commercial dryer with a similar capacity and footprint.
Before confirming it as a replacement, check:
- Capacity: Confirm that the washer-to-dryer capacity balance remains suitable.
- Dimensions: Check the full footprint, delivery route and door clearance.
- Power: Match the selected PNC to the site voltage, phase and protective rating.
- Heating services: Verify gas or steam compatibility when replacing a non-electric dryer.
- Exhaust system: Confirm the existing duct size, route, condition and permissible pressure loss.
- Replacement air: Reassess room ventilation against the new dryer’s airflow requirement.
A site survey is recommended because existing electrical, gas, steam and ventilation services should not be assumed compatible with the new machine.
Compliance, hygiene and environment
Correct programme selection, loading, filter cleaning and routine maintenance are essential for safe, consistent drying.
The dryer does not replace a complete site hygiene process. Laundry outcomes also depend on washing, segregation, handling procedures and staff training.
- Lint management: Inspect and clean the lint filter at the required intervals.
- Safe textiles: Follow the operating instructions for contaminated, oil-affected or heat-sensitive items.
- Cool-down: Allow cycles to complete so the final cooling stage can finish correctly.
- Ventilation: Keep the room air supply and exhaust system unobstructed.
- Maintenance: Arrange planned servicing appropriate to the machine’s workload and environment.
