Product Overview

The Miele PFD 101 provides a practical step up from a domestic dishwasher for sites that need dependable commercial performance without moving to a larger tank dishwasher.

Its fresh-water system replaces the wash water during the programme, helping maintain consistent cleaning and hygiene across repeated daily cycles. Eight programmes cover everyday crockery, lightly or heavily soiled items, glasses, plastics and hygiene-sensitive loads. The 32A version has a shortest manufacturer reference programme of 20 minutes, while the lower-powered 13A version has a shortest reference time of 36 minutes. Actual times vary with the selected programme, incoming water temperature, water pressure, electrical supply and machine condition.

Suitable applications for this machine include Offices, Nurseries, Schools, Colleges & Universities, Hotels & B&Bs, Sports Clubs, Churches & Village Halls and Private Residences & Estates, as well as many others. This semi-commercial model includes a two-year commercial warranty when purchased through a&f.

Features & Benefits

Designed for organisations that need greater durability, flexibility and daily throughput than a standard domestic dishwasher, while retaining familiar front-loading operation.

Choice of electrical supply

230v 13A and 230v 32A versions available

Choose the version that matches the available site supply and required throughput. The 32A version provides significantly faster reference programme times.

Faster 32A performance

Shortest reference programme of 20 minutes

The 32A model is the preferred choice where crockery must be turned around more quickly. Programme times depend on incoming water temperature, pressure, programme selection and site conditions.

13-place-setting capacity

Processes a useful quantity of mixed crockery

Suitable for regular staff-room, nursery, school, guest accommodation and community-facility dishwashing without requiring a larger commercial tank machine.

Fresh-water wash system

Repeated water changes support consistent results

Fresh water is used through the programme rather than retaining one tank of wash water, helping provide dependable cleaning and hygiene across successive cycles.

High-temperature final rinse

Maximum final rinse temperature of 82°C

Supports hygienic, professional dishwashing results when the machine, detergent, programme and site services are correctly selected and managed.

Eight specialist programmes

Programmes for varied crockery and soiling

Options include Universal, Short, Hygiene, Cold/Pre-wash, Glasses, Plastics, ECO and Intensive for different materials and levels of soiling.

AutoOpen assisted drying

Door opens automatically after the programme

The automatic door-opening stage allows moisture to escape and helps crockery dry more thoroughly before unloading.

Flexible basket system

Adjustable loading for mixed crockery

FlexLine baskets, hinged sections, a movable cutlery basket and a height-adjustable upper basket help staff load different cups, plates, glasses and containers efficiently.

Integrated water softener

Helps manage local water hardness

Correctly configured water softening helps protect wash quality, reduce limescale formation and support reliable long-term operation.

Simple staff operation

Electronic controls with programme buttons

A time-remaining display, programme sequence indication, selectable display languages and filter reminders help staff use and maintain the machine confidently.

Miele MOVE connectivity

WiFi-enabled digital machine management

Compatible Miele MOVE services can provide machine status, notifications, consumption information, operating data and remote support functions where available.

Tested commercial durability

Tested by Miele to 12,500 wash cycles

Testing is completed under controlled conditions and demonstrates the machine’s semi-commercial design. It is not a guaranteed service life and actual longevity depends on use, maintenance and care.

Technical specifications

The PFD 101 is available in 13A and 32A versions. Confirm the required cycle performance, electrical supply, water connection and pumped-waste arrangement before ordering. The fastest stated programme time applies to the 32A version under suitable site conditions.

Choosing the right machine

Is the Miele PFD 101 Commercial Dishwasher the right model for me?

The PFD 101 is well suited to organisations needing more durability and daily capacity than a standard domestic dishwasher, while retaining a familiar freestanding format and flexible baskets.

It is a semi-commercial fresh-water machine, rather than a continuously heated tank dishwasher. Check expected peak-time throughput carefully and select the 32A version where faster turnaround is important.

What should I check before purchasing this machine?

Confirm the type and quantity of crockery, expected number of daily cycles, busiest service period and available electrical supply. The PFD 101 accommodates 13 place settings, but a tank dishwasher may be more suitable where large quantities must be processed continuously within very short service windows.

Before purchasing this machine, it is worth checking:

  • Throughput: whether a 20-minute reference cycle on the 32A version provides enough capacity during your busiest period.
  • Electrical supply: whether the site has a suitable 13A supply or a dedicated 230v 32A supply.
  • Crockery: whether the baskets suit your plates, cups, glasses, cutlery, trays and containers.
  • Installation space: whether the 845 × 598 × 600 mm machine fits with safe door-opening and service access.
  • Water quality: whether the integrated water softener has been correctly configured for the local hardness.
  • Operating model: whether a semi-commercial fresh-water dishwasher or a faster tank machine is the better solution.

Services, drainage and cycle times

The machine requires one suitable cold or hot water supply with 1 to 10 bar flow pressure and a connection for its pumped DN 22 waste hose. The maximum stated drain-pump head is 1,000 mm above floor level. Final service positions should remain accessible for installation and maintenance.

The 32A version requires a dedicated 230v 32A supply, connected through a suitable 32A Commando socket and plug positioned close to the rear services. The 13A version has a lower connected load but longer programme times. The stated 20-minute and 36-minute figures are manufacturer reference times, not guaranteed cycle times.

  • 230v 32A version: 6.3 kW connected load and shortest reference programme of 20 minutes.
  • 230v 13A version: 2.1 kW connected load and shortest reference programme of 36 minutes.
  • Water supply: one suitable cold or hot water connection within reach of the 1.5 m inlet hose.
  • Waste connection: suitable pumped drainage within reach of the 1.5 m drain hose.
  • Cycle-time variables: incoming water temperature, water pressure, electrical supply, selected programme and machine condition all affect actual duration.
Replacing an older model?

The PFD 101 may be considered when replacing certain earlier Miele fresh-water dishwashers, but it should not be assumed to be a direct like-for-like replacement without checking the installation and operating requirement.

Relevant previous models may include:

  • PG8130
  • G8050Office
  • G7750

Check the existing machine’s dimensions, electrical rating, water connection, drainage, baskets, plinth or furniture arrangement and typical programme times. a&f can survey the site and confirm the correct replacement and electrical version.

Compliance, hygiene and environment

The fresh-water system, Hygiene programme and maximum 82°C final rinse support hygienic commercial dishwashing. Miele publishes independent test evidence for bacterial and viral reduction on specified PFD 10x programmes when the stated detergents and test conditions are used.

A high-temperature final rinse or hygiene programme does not remove the need for correct loading, detergent dosing, water-softener setup, temperature control, cleaning, staff training and suitable handling of clean crockery.

  • Programme selection: choose a programme appropriate to the crockery, soiling and hygiene requirement.
  • Detergent and rinse aid: use correctly selected commercial chemicals at the specified dose.
  • Water hardness: configure and replenish the integrated softener correctly to protect results and the machine.
  • Filter care: inspect and clean the filters as instructed to maintain wash performance and reliability.
  • Site procedures: separate dirty and clean crockery and use safe loading, unloading and storage practices.
