Features & Benefits
The Miele PDW 909 stainless steel washer-dryer stack brings commercial washing and drying together in one compact unit, helping sites save space without stepping down to domestic-style laundry equipment.
Washer-dryer stack
Full wash and dry setup in one vertical unit
The stacked design gives you a professional washer and dryer in less than 1m² of floor space, ideal where laundry room space is limited.
2 x 9kg capacity
Balanced washing and drying capacity
Both the washer and dryer are rated at 9kg, giving smaller commercial sites a matched-capacity solution for regular daily laundry loads.

1300rpm spin with 518 g-factor
The washer helps remove more water before drying, supporting shorter drying times and better laundry throughput.
Short programmes
45-minute wash and 36-minute dry
Miele lists these programme times under stated test conditions, helping busy sites keep laundry moving efficiently.
Exhaust air drying
Vented drying for productive commercial use
The dryer uses an exhaust air system, making it suitable for sites where a proper duct route to atmosphere can be provided.
PerfectDry
Moisture-controlled tumble drying
PerfectDry residual moisture measurement helps the dryer finish loads accurately, supporting consistent results and reducing unnecessary over-drying.
Central controls
M Touch Pro Plus and M Touch Pro
The centred control position makes the stack easier to operate, with clear programme selection for busy teams and shared laundry areas.
Hygiene support
Disinfection rinse and temperature monitoring

Technical specifications
Technical details for the Miele PDW 909 stainless steel washer dryer stack, including both the 230v, 25A and 400v, 16A electrical variants. Programme times and consumption figures are based on Miele reference conditions and vary with programme, load and site services.
Choosing the right machine
Is the Miele PDW 909 stainless steel washer dryer stack right for your site?
The Miele PDW 909 is a strong option where a site needs a separate 9kg commercial washer and 9kg dryer but does not have enough floor space for two machines positioned side by side.
This version uses a DN22 drain pump and a vented exhaust-air dryer. The laundry type, drainage position, exhaust route, electrical supplies and expected daily throughput should therefore be checked before ordering.
When is this machine a good fit?
This stack is best suited to sites processing standard commercial laundry where space is limited and both washing and drying are needed in the same location.
It is especially worth considering where:
- The site needs a matched 9kg washer and 9kg dryer.
- Floor space is limited, but the room has enough height for a 1940mm stack.
- The laundry includes towels, bedding, table linen, uniforms, sportswear or everyday personal clothing.
- A vent route to atmosphere can be provided for the dryer.
- The site can provide either two 230v, 25A supplies or two 400v, 16A supplies.
Typical applications include hotels, restaurants, launderettes, housing and apartment laundries, schools, campsites, sports clubs, spas, fitness centres, dry cleaners and small commercial laundries.
What should I check before choosing this model?
The stack saves floor space, but it still requires suitable access, room height, electrical services, drainage and dryer ventilation.
Before ordering, check:
- The daily laundry volume is appropriate for one 9kg washer and one 9kg dryer.
- The machine can be brought into the room through all doors, corridors and turns.
- The floor can support the machine and its stated maximum operating load.
- A suitable DN22 pumped waste connection or standpipe is available for the washer.
- The dryer can be ducted safely to atmosphere with adequate replacement air entering the room.
The stainless steel version is useful where appearance, cleanability or resistance to regular external cleaning is important. An iron grey version is also available where stainless steel is not required.
When might another model be better?
A different washer, dryer or stack configuration may be more appropriate where the site has heavier soiling, specialist hygiene requirements, no exhaust route or higher daily capacity.
A different model may be better if:
- The laundry includes double incontinence, faecal contamination or heavily soiled care laundry.
- The site is a care home or healthcare environment requiring a gravity drain or drain valve process.
- The laundry regularly contains animal hair, mop debris, equestrian dirt or larger particles that may obstruct a drain pump.
- No suitable external exhaust duct can be provided for the vented dryer.
- The site needs larger loads, several consecutive cycles or greater peak-hour throughput.
For care homes and healthcare sites, a&f would not normally recommend this drain-pump configuration. A gravity drain or drain valve washer should normally be assessed instead, even though the PDW 909 includes hygiene and disinfection programming.
Services, utilities and installation checks
The washer and dryer have separate electrical requirements. The selected stack should be matched to the site supply before ordering, rather than assuming the machine can be connected to a single circuit.
Reference programme times depend on the selected programme, load size, incoming water temperature, water pressure, electrical variant, exhaust arrangement and room conditions.
Key installation checks include:
- 230v version: one 230v, 25A supply for the washer and one 230v, 25A supply for the dryer.
- 400v version: one 400v, 16A supply for the washer and one 400v, 16A supply for the dryer.
- Cold and hot water connections for the washer.
- DN22 pumped drainage positioned within the manufacturer’s installation limits.
- A correctly sized dryer exhaust route and adequate room make-up air.
a&f can confirm access, supply ratings, drainage, ducting, ventilation and final positioning as part of a site survey.
Replacing an older model?
The Miele PDW 909 is the relevant replacement route for the older Miele PWT6089 washer dryer stack.
Replacement should not be treated as a direct swap without checking the installation. The electrical ratings, overall dimensions, drainage position, dryer exhaust route, connection layout and controls may differ from the older machine.
Previous model search term: PWT6089
A site survey allows a&f to confirm whether the existing services and ducting can be reused or whether alterations are required before installation.
Compliance, hygiene and environment
The PDW 909 washer includes disinfection programmes, temperature monitoring, a disinfection rinse and Miele-tested virucidal performance. The machine is also listed with CE, UKCA, VDE, VDE-EMC and IPX4 ratings.
The wider laundry process must still consider:
- Correct separation of clean and dirty laundry.
- Validated programme settings, temperatures and holding times.
- Appropriate detergent and chemical dosing.
- Staff handling, training and documented procedures.
- The suitability of drain-pump drainage for the actual soiling being processed.
Hygiene outcomes depend on the complete process, including machine selection, programme setup, segregation, staff procedure, detergent choice, temperature validation and site handling. The machine alone does not guarantee compliance.
