Choosing the right machine
Is the Electrolux Professional DC6-8 Commercial Drying Cabinet the right model for me?
The DC6-8 is designed for customers who need to dry bulky, delicate or specialist items without mechanical tumbling action.
Its 8 kg capacity and 1200 mm width provide generous hanging space, but the electrical supply, exhaust route and replacement-air provision must be checked before ordering.
What should I check before purchasing this machine?
Consider the type, size and daily volume of items you need to dry. A drying cabinet is particularly useful for garments and equipment that should remain stationary during drying.
Before purchasing this machine, it is worth checking:
- Load requirements: confirm that the 8 kg capacity and internal hanging arrangement suit your items.
- Available space: allow for the 1200 × 580 × 1820 mm cabinet and comfortable door access.
- Delivery access: check entrances, corridors and final positioning before delivery.
- Electrical supply: select the correct 230v single-phase or 400v three-phase version.
- Ventilation: confirm a suitable external exhaust route and replacement-air provision.
- Item types: consider optional shoe racks or glove hangers where specialist accessories are needed.
Services, drainage and cycle times
The DC6-8 is an electrically heated, vented cabinet. It requires a fixed electrical connection, a dedicated 125 mm exhaust duct and sufficient replacement air for the extracted air.
The published 47-minute drying time and 6.2 kWh energy figure are manufacturer reference results for an 8 kg cotton load at 50% initial moisture, dried to 0%. Actual results vary with the items, moisture level, programme, loading and ventilation conditions.
- 230v version: 6.2 kW total rated power with a recommended 30A protective rating.
- 400v version: 6.2 kW total rated power with a recommended 10A protective rating.
- Exhaust: 125 mm fixed duct connection with a maximum permitted pressure drop of 70 Pa.
- Replacement air: the room must receive sufficient fresh air to replace the humid air exhausted outside.
- Drainage: this standard vented model does not require a condensate drain.
Replacing an older model?
The DC6-8 may suit replacement of another wide, vented drying cabinet where an 8 kg capacity and static hanging arrangement are required.
Check the following before arranging a replacement:
- Cabinet dimensions: compare the 1200 mm width, 580 mm depth and 1820 mm height.
- Electrical configuration: confirm the existing supply matches the selected 230v or 400v version.
- Exhaust system: verify the duct diameter, route and calculated pressure loss.
- Replacement air: ensure the room ventilation remains suitable for the new cabinet.
- Working clearance: allow space for both doors, loading and future servicing.
A site survey is recommended where the existing cabinet, ductwork or electrical arrangement cannot be positively identified.
Compliance, hygiene and environment
The cabinet is intended only for drying textiles that have been washed in water. Correct cleaning, item segregation and handling procedures remain the responsibility of the operator and site.
Professional installation and routine maintenance help preserve safe airflow, reliable drying performance and effective operation.
- Safe loading: follow the operating instructions and avoid obstructing the designed airflow.
- Filter care: inspect and clean the filter at the intervals stated in the operating instructions.
- Ventilation: keep exhaust ducting and replacement-air openings clear.
- Maintenance: servicing and repairs should be completed by authorised personnel.
- End of life: arrange appropriate recycling and disposal through an approved route.
