Choosing the right machine

Is the Electrolux Professional FIT2B Commercial Ironing Table the right model for me?

The FIT2B is intended for commercial sites carrying out substantial amounts of detailed hand ironing and garment finishing.

Its integral boiler and permanent water and drain connections make it particularly suitable where a small manually filled ironing system would interrupt productivity.

What should I check before purchasing this machine?

Consider the daily quantity and type of items requiring hand ironing, the available workspace and whether the optional finishing accessories are needed.

Before purchasing this machine, it is worth checking:

  • Workload: Confirm that your operation has enough regular hand ironing to justify a permanent commercial workstation.
  • Working space: Allow for the 1600 × 470 mm machine footprint and safe operator access.
  • Electrical supply: Select the correct 230v or 400v three-phase version for the site.
  • Water and drainage: Confirm that suitable permanent connections can be provided for the integral boiler.
  • Accessories: Consider whether you require a sleeve arm, spotting equipment, gantry, iron balancer or working light.

Services, drainage and cycle times

The FIT2B requires a three-phase electrical supply, mains water connection, boiler drain and provision for its vacuum outlet. The precise installation should be checked against the selected electrical version and Electrolux installation instructions.

This is an operator-controlled ironing workstation rather than an automatic machine with fixed cycles. Output depends on the items being finished, their residual moisture, the required finish and operator experience.

  • Electrical load: Both versions have a stated connected load of 5.6 kW.
  • Water inlet: The manufacturer specifies a 12 mm water connection.
  • Boiler drain: The manufacturer specifies a DN10 boiler drain connection.
  • Vacuum outlet: Allow for the specified 100 mm diameter outlet.
Replacing an older model?

The FIT2B may suit the replacement of an older commercial vacuum ironing table or a smaller boiler-and-table arrangement where continuous mains-fed operation is now required.

Important replacement checks include:

  • Machine footprint: Compare the full width, depth and working position with the existing table.
  • Electrical supply: Confirm whether the site is suitable for the 230v or 400v three-phase version.
  • Water and waste: Check that permanent boiler water and drain connections can be provided.
  • Vacuum arrangement: Confirm the required connection and route for the 100 mm vacuum outlet.

Accessory compatibility should not be assumed when replacing another make or an older table. The complete proposed configuration should be checked before ordering.

Compliance, hygiene and environment

The FIT2B should be installed, commissioned and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, local electrical requirements and applicable workplace safety procedures.

Steam, heat and pressurised boiler components require appropriate operator training and routine maintenance. The table itself does not replace site procedures for textile segregation, cleaning or infection control.

  • Operator safety: Train users in safe steam-ironing and boiler operation.
  • Maintenance: Follow the manufacturer’s cleaning, draining and inspection instructions.
  • Water quality: Assess the incoming supply and follow Electrolux guidance to minimise scale formation.
  • Work environment: Provide a suitable working area around the heated table and iron.
